Traonyx – A Natural Composite Stone of Beauty and Strength

Trav onyx is a naturally occurring composite stone, formed from a combination of travertine and onyx (marble). While it’s often assumed to be man-made, Traonyx actually forms naturally in the earth. Parts of the stone display characteristics of travertine, while others resemble marble.

Travertine is a sedimentary rock, and marble is a metamorphic rock formed under heat and pressure. Thus, Traonyx is essentially a partly metamorphosed sedimentary rock.

Key features of Trav onyx:

  • Its sedimentary-metamorphic nature gives it a wide range of colors and patterns
  • Relatively high porosity
  • Bold veining and clear visual textures
  • Color and pattern contrast make it ideal for interior design
  • Partially translucent, allowing light to pass through some areas
  • Does not absorb heat
  • Low water absorption
  • Strong resistance to various environmental conditions
